You may have seen the letters DWF floating around Facebook recently and also train day in and day out under a DWF banner on the wall of SCCF but never really known what it was all about. Let's get you educated...
Five years ago a small box in Swansea called CrossFit Velocity decided to have a small individual throwdown, and from there Divided We Fall was born. The first few years were held inside CrossFit Velocity. When the demand grew it migrated to The LC in Swansea before ending up in The Motorpoint Arena in Cardiff.
Over the years, it has grown to the number 1 UK team CrossFit competition - and is this year returning to its 'Origins' in Manchester at Reebok CrossFit 3D on 14-15th November. The goal of the team behind it is to take a competition back to it's roots...
SCCF have been lucky enough to get one of the 70 team places (2 male, 2 female - movement standards: https://www.facebook.com/DividedWeFallInfo/posts/723357797791493) and will be holding completely open try-outs to put forward the strongest team from the box.
The qualifiers will take the form of workouts that use movements that DWF have specified will be required and will be performed in classes over the next three Mondays. The workouts will also be the Workout of the Week so if you can't get in on Monday or want to have another go. The first workout is as follows:
7 minute AMRAP
7 Thrusters (45/30kg)
7 Pull Ups
7 Lateral Burpees Over The Bar
Movement standards will be high and we recommend that you get someone to judge you so you can concentrate on performance. Whilst you don't NEED a physical judge present during Open Gym, please alert a coach that you are about to start the workout so we can keep a watchful eye.
Put your scores on the 'Workout of the Week' blackboard and most importantly, HAVE FUN!
